Charts

Describe what you want to see and Atta picks the right chart type - or pick one yourself.

The chart type picker

Click the Charts button below the prompt box to open the chart type picker. You can browse three ways using the tabs in the top-right:

  • Alphabetical - all chart types listed A-Z
  • Categorical - grouped by visual category
  • Intent - grouped by what you're trying to do

Choosing the right chart

The intent view groups charts by what you're trying to show:

  • Composition or proportions - Bar, Stacked bar, Pie, Donut, Radar, Heatmap, Treemap, Waterfall
  • Trends over time - Simple area, Stacked area, Single line, Stepped line, Confidence band
  • Compare quantities - Column, Grouped column, Grouped bar, Multiple lines, Column + line
  • Relationships - Split bar, Scatter plot, Bubble, Scatter with trend line
  • Flow between stages - Sankey, Funnel
  • Distribution - Histogram

Let Atta decide

You don't need to memorize chart types. Just describe what you're trying to understand.

  • "How do sales break down by category?" creates a bar chart
  • "What's the trend in daily active users?" creates a line chart
  • "Is there a relationship between price and quantity?" creates a scatter plot

Refining charts

After Atta creates a chart, ask follow-ups to adjust it:

  • "Make it a stacked bar instead"
  • "Add a trend line"
  • "Filter to only Q4 data"
